You can find more about Edale Country Day on our Handy Information page, or check out a selection of pictures from previous shows in our Picture Gallery.
While you are waiting for Edale Country Day, why not look in Where Can We Go (Derbyshire) to see what else is happening in Derbyshire.
Food
As usual the show will include our amazing tea tent (with yummy homemade cakes), bar and BBQ. Plus we have Hope Valley Ice-cream.
Entertainment and Activities
These include:
Bubble Football. This is a first for Edale Country Day, but we’ve heard that it’s hilarious. Two teams of five play a game that involves participants’ upper bodies being secured into a giant inflatable bubble whilst leaving their legs free to run, flip and bounce into their opponents. We’re running two sessions in the afternoon, so make sure you are there.
Modern Jive Dancers. If you’ve eaten too much cake in the tea tent you can work it off with our Modern Jive Dancers.
Greentop Community Circus will be in the field teaching some circus skills.
Edale Fell Race. Both adult and junior races are taking place, with the adult race finishing on Edale Country Day Showground. Junior races are part of the FRA Junior championship. See below for more details.
Music. Local musicians will be playing throughout the day.
WAST choir members will be joining us with their uplifting voices, as they have done for a number of years.
Tug-of-War. Can you stand the strain? Come and have a go with one of our Tug-of-War teams!
Tai Chi. The children of Edale & Hope have been learning Tai Chi and are coming to show their skills.
Dog Show. Does your dog have what it takes to beat the competition? Does you child think he can race your dog? We aren’t talking Crufts standard here, this may be organised chaos…..
Archery. Come and try out your archery skills.
Caving. We have the artificial cave again, for those brave enough to venture inside.
Children’s games. We’ve got lots of activities planned to keep children occupied.
Moors for the Future & the Bogtastic van. Find out more about the incredible environment in the Peak District.
Silent Auction of lots of wonderful things our sponsors have donated.
Animals
Amerron Acres are coming with some of their horses.
Sheep Shearing. Geoff Townsend will be coming to the show again this year to demonstrate sheep shearing.
Sheep breeds. We are hoping to have a selection of rare sheep breeds.
